One of the trends among people on DeviantArt and Tumblr is to create original characters. Whether they live in an already established universe or one that you created yourself, this character is precious like a child to you and you know everything about them.
I saw a few people post journals about their OCs that were a series of questions about them. This could be useful when writing characters to define them a bit more.
(I apologize for any weird questions and choice of words, I translated myself from French).
Basic questions:
1) What's your name?
2) How old are you?
3) When & where were you born?
Family questions:
4) Who are your parents?
5) What are their occupations?
6) Do you have brothers and sisters? If not, do you wish you had siblings?
7) Who held you in their arms first?
8) Are they the person you love most?
Dark questions:
9) What are you afraid of?
10) Who are you afraid of?
11) When alone, what are you thinking about?
12) Your worst memory?
13) Does it still haunt you?
Sweet questions:
14) In your darkest moments, who comforts you?
15) How do they do it?
16) Are they the person you love most?
17) (If not) Who do you love most?
18) How do you spend time together?
19) Who are your best friends?
20) What's your best memory?
Future questions:
21) What's your dream?
22) Do you want to get married?
23) Do you want to have children?
24) Do you see yourself in the future?
While these aren't necessarily interesting questions, I thought that could help define specific characters and their backstory, as well as their way of dealing with different things and situations.
